You see Cattolica,
and you fall in love
They call it the Queen of the Adriatic — and for good reason. It lies in a natural inlet, cradled by Mount Gabicce and protected from the winds. Here the sea is calm, the border between Emilia-Romagna and Marche is just around the corner, and the air smells of holiday in every season.
The town centre is intimate and welcoming, with artisan gelato shops, refined boutiques and well-known restaurants. If you enjoy window-shopping, Via Dante is your street: one direction leads you to the canal harbour with its gently rocking boats, the other to Piazza 1° Maggio, the vibrant heart of the town. In summer, dancing fountains light up the square — water jets moving to music, illuminated by sparkling lights. A little magic that enchants every time, made even more special by the fact that the whole area is pedestrian.
Strolling here is a pleasure, even with children.
